Arrive & Drive, Seat Rentals &Driver Development

Find offshore powerboat race seats, competition rentals and arrive-and-drive opportunities for PWC, snowmobile and specialty racing programs.

About Alternative Racing Arrive-and-Drive and Race Seat Rentals

Sometimes the hardest part of getting into a form of racing is not learning where the event is. It is finding a legitimate way into the competition without first buying the entire program.

That challenge is especially real in the alternative corners of motorsport. An offshore racer may need a driver or throttleman position. A PWC racer may need a race-prepared ski for one national weekend. A snowmobile racer may need a prepared sled after equipment trouble. A Figure 8 or lawn mower racer may find a local program willing to supply the vehicle and support. In each case, the buyer is paying for temporary competitive access rather than ownership.

RaceTeams.com gives those opportunities a marketplace home.

Find Other Racing Race Seats and Competition Rentals

Listings may include:

  • Offshore powerboat driver seats
  • Offshore powerboat throttleman seats
  • Navigator positions where applicable
  • Race-boat leases
  • Multi-event marine racing programs
  • Race-prepared PWC rentals for organized competition
  • Snowmobile race rentals where expressly permitted
  • Figure 8 race-car rentals
  • Lawn mower racing arrive-and-drive programs
  • Demolition or specialty competition rentals where the promoter permits them
  • Land-speed vehicle access tied to a legitimate program
  • Test-and-race packages
  • Competition programs with crew, preparation and coaching included

Not every discipline has a mature rental market. That is important. A listing belongs here because a real provider controls a real competitive opportunity, not because a race fan would like one to exist.

Offshore Powerboat Driver and Throttleman Seats

Offshore powerboat racing is one of the clearest Other Racing examples of a true race-seat transaction.

The cockpit can involve distinct roles. Depending on the class and boat, one person may steer while another manages throttles and trim. Some programs also use navigator roles. A buyer therefore needs to know much more than the name of the boat and the event date.

Sanctioning bodies such as OPA and APBA provide useful examples of why eligibility matters. Current OPA registration distinguishes drivers, throttlemen, navigators and crew memberships, including access requirements for hot-pit areas. A seat fee does not override membership, registration, safety or experience rules.

A good race-seat listing should identify:

  • Driver, throttleman or navigator role
  • Boat and class
  • Event and date
  • Sanctioning body or organizer
  • Required prior experience
  • Membership or licensing requirements
  • Testing and training included
  • Crew included
  • Entry fee included
  • Fuel and consumables
  • Safety equipment
  • Travel and lodging
  • Insurance information
  • Damage responsibility
  • Deposit and payment schedule
  • Weather policy
  • Mechanical-failure policy
  • What happens if the event is postponed or canceled

For a racer trying to break into offshore competition, those details are the difference between buying a seat and buying a surprise.

PWC and Jet Ski Competition Rentals

Personal watercraft racing can range from stand-up Ski classes to Runabout, Sport, Endurance and other formats. Sanctioning bodies such as IJSBA maintain class and eligibility structures, and the 2026 IJSBA World Finals includes categories from Pro Ski and Runabout to Amateur, Novice, Junior, Vintage and Endurance competition.

A recreational Jet Ski rental does not belong here. This page is for a PWC that is expressly prepared and permitted for organized competition.

Listings should state:

  • Stand-up, runabout or other platform
  • Make, model and year
  • Race class
  • Race preparation included
  • Event and organizer
  • Eligibility requirements
  • Fuel
  • Safety equipment
  • Pit support
  • Practice or testing
  • Maintenance between motos
  • Damage deposit
  • Crash or mechanical responsibility
  • Replacement-watercraft policy

A racer should never discover at registration that the rental agreement prohibited racing or that the craft does not fit the entered class.

Snowmobile Race Rentals

A trail rental and a race sled are two very different products.

A legitimate snowmobile race rental can fit here when the provider is supplying a sled specifically for competition under the applicable rules. That might involve snocross, oval ice, enduro, grass or another recognized snowmobile racing format.

Providers should identify the sled, class, engine configuration, track and stud setup where applicable, fuel, clutching support, suspension baseline, safety equipment, pit support, maintenance, age restrictions, event requirements and damage terms.

Series and sanctioning structures such as ISOC and AMSOIL Championship Snocross illustrate the depth of current class and membership requirements. References are examples only and do not imply RaceTeams.com affiliation.

Figure 8, Lawn Mower and Specialty Racing Rentals

Grassroots racing sometimes creates opportunities that never appear in a polished national arrive-and-drive brochure.

A local Figure 8 owner may have a second car available for an experienced driver. A mower-racing team may be able to supply a prepared entry for a club weekend. A demolition promoter may permit a rental program under a specific class. A land-speed team may offer an approved participant role after testing and evaluation.

Those can belong here when the provider controls the racing equipment, can legally and contractually offer it, and clearly explains the event rules.

For Figure 8 or demolition competition, the listing should describe driver eligibility, safety equipment, vehicle preparation, promoter rules, damage responsibility and whether the vehicle remains usable after the event. For lawn mower racing, identify the club or sanctioning structure, class, mower preparation and required protective gear. For land speed, vehicle access alone never guarantees event entry, technical inspection or record eligibility.

What Is Included in the Program?

Race-seat pricing can look simple until the racer starts adding what is not included.

Before paying a deposit, ask whether the package includes:

  • Competition vehicle, boat, PWC or sled
  • Race entry
  • Sanctioning fees
  • Membership
  • Licensing support
  • Testing
  • Practice
  • Coaching
  • Crew
  • Setup and preparation
  • Fuel
  • Tires, propellers, tracks, studs or other consumables
  • Safety equipment
  • Spares
  • Transport
  • Pit, dock or paddock setup
  • Insurance or rental protection
  • Damage cap, if any
  • Hospitality
  • Travel
  • Lodging
  • Prize-money or contingency allocation

The provider should make the exclusions as obvious as the inclusions.

Damage, Weather and Mechanical Failure

Alternative motorsports can create unusual risk and unusual failure modes.

Marine racing can be affected by water conditions, damaged drives, propellers or hull issues. PWC competition can involve collision, pump damage or water ingestion. Snowmobile racing can involve crash damage, track and suspension damage or weather cancellation. Figure 8 and demolition competition can make body and chassis damage part of the activity itself.

The agreement should say who is responsible for crash damage, mechanical failure, towing or recovery, lost competition time, replacement equipment and event cancellation.

RaceTeams.com does not determine whether a waiver, damage cap or insurance arrangement is legally sufficient.

What Providers Should Include

A strong listing should identify the discipline, competition role, exact vehicle or craft, class, date, event, eligibility requirements, provider approval process, testing, coaching, crew, preparation, safety equipment, consumables, transport, entry fees, insurance information, damage terms, security deposit, payment schedule, cancellation rules and mechanical-failure policy.

Only offer racing equipment and competition access that you own, control or are authorized to provide.

What Competitors Should Review

Before booking, verify the provider, the equipment, the class, current rules, eligibility, memberships, licenses, safety requirements, insurance, damage exposure, testing time, support level, total cost and what happens if the equipment or event becomes unavailable.

A payment does not guarantee entry, starting position, track time, water time, a qualifying result, a finish, prize money or a record.

Keep the Booking in the Right Category

Use Arrive-and-Drive / Seat Rentals when the buyer is entering or preparing to enter organized competition in racing equipment supplied by the provider.

Recreational PWC rentals, guided snowmobile rides, public event experiences and venue-controlled access belong in Other Racing Track Rentals, Experiences and Access.

Standalone coaching belongs in Other Racing Coaching and Sim Training.

Separate mechanics or race-weekend personnel belong in Other Racing Crew and Raceday Help.

Buying the complete vehicle, boat, sled or PWC belongs in Shop rather than Book.
