About the Marketplace Transaction, Cancellation, Refund & Dispute Policy

Effective Date: August 26, 2026
Last Updated: October 12, 2026

This Marketplace Transaction, Cancellation, Refund & Dispute Policy (“Policy”) is incorporated into the RaceTeams Terms of Service. It applies to purchases, sales, bookings, services, rentals, sponsorships, experiences, events, merchandise, supplies, classified listings, inquiries, and other marketplace arrangements initiated, processed, documented, or facilitated through RaceTeams.com (each a “Transaction”).

Capitalized terms not defined in this Policy have the meanings given in the Terms of Service. A “Transaction Dispute” under this Policy is a disagreement between Users concerning a Transaction. It is different from a legal claim against RaceTeams, which is governed by the dispute-resolution section of the Terms of Service.

Examples of Transaction Disputes

Transaction Disputes may include the following examples. This list is not exhaustive, and the existence of a dispute does not automatically entitle either party to a refund or other remedy:

· The Buyer did not receive a purchased item, service, booking, rental, sponsorship deliverable, event access, or other promised Offering.

· An item or service materially differs from the Listing, written agreement, approved specifications, or agreed deliverables.

· The Seller canceled, materially failed to perform, missed a material deadline, or marked a Transaction complete when it was not complete.

· The parties disagree about cancellation, return eligibility, a deposit, no-show treatment, rescheduling, partial performance, a refund, or a payment.

· An item is alleged to be damaged, counterfeit, stolen, materially misdescribed, subject to an undisclosed lien, or otherwise nonconforming.

· A charge appears to be duplicate, erroneous, unauthorized, or inconsistent with the amount disclosed before commitment.

· The parties disagree about shipping, delivery, loss, delay, additional charges, or responsibility for return costs.

Core Principles

· Sellers set their own cancellation, return, refund, rescheduling, no-show, and fulfillment rules, subject to this Policy, the Terms of Service, Payment Provider rules, and applicable law.

· A Seller must present its material rules clearly before the Buyer commits to the Transaction. A Seller may not create or change material rules after a Transaction begins unless the Buyer expressly agrees or law permits the change.

· The Buyer and Seller are the parties responsible for resolving their Transaction. RaceTeams is generally not the buyer, seller, insurer, guarantor, escrow agent, court, arbitrator, or party to their underlying agreement.

· A Payment Provider, card issuer, bank, card network, escrow provider, or other financial institution may control a formal payment dispute, chargeback, refund, reversal, reserve, or payout decision under its own rules.

· RaceTeams may take administrative action to protect the marketplace, enforce the Terms, address fraud or abuse, comply with law or provider requirements, and manage a transaction state or payout. An administrative action does not determine every legal right between Users.

· Mandatory consumer, payment, shipping, cancellation, refund, and other laws override conflicting Seller terms or this Policy.

Seller Cancellation and Refund Rules

Every Seller must provide rules that are accurate, understandable, accessible before commitment, and appropriate to the Listing. Seller rules remain subject to this Policy, the Terms of Service, the standard RaceTeams transaction process, Payment Provider rules, and applicable law.

At a minimum, the Seller must disclose, where applicable:

· When a Buyer may cancel and how to submit a cancellation request.

· Whether returns are accepted, the return window, required condition, return-shipping responsibility, and excluded items.

· Whether deposits, custom work, personalized goods, event admissions, sponsorship rights, or other amounts are intended to be nonrefundable and when that status begins.

· Rules for appointments, services, bookings, rentals, events, late arrival, no-shows, rescheduling, weather, track or venue closure, force majeure, partial performance, and substitute performance.

· Expected shipment, delivery, performance, booking, event, or deliverable dates and the process for delay or nonperformance.

· Every mandatory shipping, travel, materials, activation, customization, inspection, deposit, escrow, facility, access, or other charge not included in the displayed price.

· Any additional written contract, waiver, sponsorship agreement, rental agreement, event rule, or transaction-specific term that applies.

Standard RaceTeams refund limitation

RaceTeams uses Sharetribe's standard transaction processes at launch and does not use custom partial-refund code. An eligible transaction canceled through the standard RaceTeams transaction flow before completion produces a full refund of the original marketplace payment, including the RaceTeams marketplace commission in that payment.

RaceTeams does not support partial cash refunds through the standard marketplace cancellation flow at launch. A Seller therefore should not promise a partial RaceTeams cash refund as a checkout remedy. Sellers may instead state lawful rules providing for a full refund, no refund where legally permitted, rescheduling, replacement, credit, make-good, or another resolution that the standard transaction process can support.

Standard card-processing costs for ordinary RaceTeams checkout are included in the RaceTeams Seller Marketplace Service Fee. Payment Provider costs paid by RaceTeams may not be returned to RaceTeams when a payment is refunded. RaceTeams may recover unreimbursed Payment Provider costs from a Seller when permitted by the Terms, transaction disclosures, provider rules, and applicable law, including when losses result from the Seller's fraud, material misrepresentation, prohibited conduct, repeated unjustified cancellations, or another material breach.

After a Transaction is completed or payout has occurred, RaceTeams may have limited ability to reverse funds through the Service. Any post-completion resolution must comply with RaceTeams instructions, Payment Provider rules, the parties' agreement, and applicable law.

A Seller rule is not enforceable through RaceTeams to the extent it is hidden, materially misleading, inconsistent with the Listing or checkout, added after commitment without agreement, prohibited by law, or inconsistent with the controlling transaction process.

RaceTeams Minimum Standards

Seller-written rules control only when they satisfy this Policy. Unless applicable law provides greater rights:

· Seller cancellation or material nonperformance. If the Seller cancels, rejects, cannot provide, or materially fails to provide the Offering before completion, the standard platform remedy is ordinarily cancellation and a full refund of the original marketplace payment, unless the Buyer voluntarily accepts a reschedule, replacement, credit, make-good, or substitute.

· Non-delivery. A Seller may not keep payment for an Offering that is not delivered or performed, except where a clearly disclosed and lawful Buyer-cancellation, no-show, deposit, custom-work, or other rule applies and the platform process and applicable law permit that result.

· Material misdescription. “Final sale,” “as is,” or no-refund language does not excuse fraud, counterfeiting, stolen property, lack of authority or title, undisclosed material defects, delivery of a materially different item, or another issue that law does not permit a Seller to disclaim.

· Unauthorized or duplicate charges. Users must cooperate in correcting a duplicate, erroneous, or unauthorized charge, subject to verification and Payment Provider procedures.

· Undisclosed mandatory charges. A Buyer is not required to pay a material mandatory charge that was not clearly disclosed before commitment.

· Legally required remedies. A Seller must provide any cancellation, refund, return, warranty, shipping-delay, withdrawal, cooling-off, or other remedy required by applicable law.

· Store credit or make-good. A Seller may not substitute store credit for a monetary refund when law requires money to be returned. Otherwise, a credit, replacement, reschedule, or make-good may be used when the Buyer accepts it.

· No retaliation. A Seller may not retaliate against a Buyer for making a good-faith complaint or exercising a legal right. A Buyer may not use a complaint, review, or payment dispute to obtain goods, services, or money the Buyer is not entitled to receive.

Buyer-Requested Cancellations

A Buyer does not have an automatic right to cancel or receive a refund merely because the Buyer changes plans, finds a lower price, no longer wants the Offering, fails to review the Listing, or makes an error, unless the Seller policy, transaction process, or applicable law provides that right.

For an on-platform paid Transaction, a Seller should structure its policy around remedies the standard RaceTeams process can actually support. If the Seller agrees to a platform cancellation before completion, that cancellation ordinarily returns the full original marketplace payment to the Buyer. RaceTeams does not offer a standard partial cash-refund function at launch.

A Buyer must submit a cancellation through the method stated in the Listing or transaction record. A message or cancellation sent outside the required method may not be effective until received and reasonably verifiable.

Seller Cancellations, Rejections, and Failure to Perform

A Seller must promptly notify the Buyer if the Seller cannot accept, ship, deliver, perform, host, schedule, or complete a Transaction as promised. The Seller must not mark a Transaction complete, delivered, or performed when it is not.

When the Seller cancels or materially fails to perform before completion, RaceTeams may cancel the Transaction through the standard process, which ordinarily returns the full original marketplace payment to the Buyer, including the RaceTeams commission collected in that payment. The Buyer may instead voluntarily accept a reschedule, replacement, credit, make-good, or other lawful substitute.

RaceTeams may recover unreimbursed Payment Provider costs or other losses from a Seller when a cancellation or refund resulted from fraud, material misrepresentation, prohibited conduct, repeated unjustified cancellations, or another material breach, where permitted by the Terms and applicable law.

Physical Goods, Vehicles, Parts, Merchandise, and Supplies

The Seller is responsible for accurate descriptions, lawful possession and authority, condition disclosures, title and lien information, authenticity, recalls, fitment, packaging, shipment, delivery, and any Seller warranty.

· The Buyer must inspect the Offering promptly after delivery and report a missing, damaged, incorrect, counterfeit, stolen, materially misdescribed, or nonconforming item before the transaction deadline shown in the Service or, if no deadline is shown, as soon as reasonably possible.

· A Buyer must preserve the item, packaging, labels, tracking records, photographs, video, inspection records, and other evidence and must not materially alter, install, use, race, disassemble, repair, resell, or dispose of the item if doing so would prevent a fair review, except when reasonably necessary for safety or loss prevention.

· The Seller may require return of an item before issuing a refund. Return-shipping responsibility depends on the Seller policy, the cause of the return, applicable law, and any agreed resolution.

· Custom, personalized, made-to-order, used, competition-only, off-road, experimental, or final-sale items may have restricted cancellation or return rights when clearly disclosed, but those restrictions do not excuse fraud, lack of authority, or a material misdescription.

· For covered internet merchandise orders, the Seller remains responsible for legally required shipment-delay notices, cancellation options, and refunds.

Services, Bookings, Events, Experiences, and Rentals

The Seller’s disclosed rules govern scheduling, acceptance, cancellation, rescheduling, deposits, late arrival, no-shows, weather, track or venue closure, participant eligibility, equipment, and partial performance.

· If the Seller cancels or cannot provide the material service, booking, event, experience, or rental, the Buyer is generally entitled to a refund of the unprovided portion unless the Buyer accepts a reschedule, credit, substitute, or other remedy.

· If the Buyer cancels, arrives late, is a no-show, fails to meet disclosed eligibility or safety requirements, or is removed for violating lawful provider or venue rules, the Seller policy controls, subject to applicable law.

· A weather, force-majeure, track, venue, series, sanctioning-body, government, safety, or similar disruption is handled under the Seller’s disclosed policy. The Seller should state whether the result will be a full refund where the platform cancellation process applies, reschedule, credit, make-good, lawful forfeiture, or another disclosed remedy.

· A Buyer must report material nonperformance promptly and before the transaction is automatically completed or provider payout is released where the Service provides that opportunity.

· Physical participation, vehicle access, track activity, or event admission may require separate waivers, releases, insurance, credentials, and provider rules. A cancellation or refund does not waive those requirements or establish fault.

Sponsorships, Promotions, and Advertising Opportunities

Sponsorship and promotional Transactions should be governed by a written agreement identifying deliverables, dates, approvals, rights, exclusivity, reporting, payment milestones, cancellation, make-goods, force majeure, morality or conduct provisions, and remedies.

A Buyer is not entitled to a refund merely because a sponsorship produces less exposure, audience, sales, media value, return on investment, or other business result than expected, unless the Seller guaranteed that result in a binding agreement. A material failure to deliver agreed sponsorship assets or services should be addressed through the written agreement, including any cure, make-good, credit, direct monetary adjustment where lawfully handled outside the standard platform cancellation flow, or termination right.

Classifieds, Inquiries, Leads, and Off-Platform Transactions

Some Listings may facilitate an inquiry, introduction, negotiation, lead, or transaction completed outside the Service. Unless RaceTeams or a Payment Provider processed the payment and the transaction process provides a refund mechanism, RaceTeams may be unable to cancel the transaction, return funds, reverse payment, compel performance, or determine the parties’ rights.

Users who transact off-platform are responsible for their written agreement, payment method, inspection, escrow, delivery, records, and remedies. RaceTeams may still investigate connected fraud or policy abuse and may restrict or terminate Accounts, but it does not guarantee recovery.

A Transaction does not become fee-free merely because the parties move payment outside RaceTeams. If RaceTeams generated the Buyer-Seller connection and the same or a substantially related transaction closes outside the Service within the period defined in the Terms of Service, the Seller may owe the 10% Marketplace-Originated Lead Fee. The Seller must comply with the reporting and payment requirements on the RaceTeams Marketplace Fees page.

High-Value Transaction Assistance

RaceTeams may separately offer optional Transaction Assistance for selected high-value transactions under a written agreement. Depending on the transaction and what is legally permitted, that assistance may include administrative coordination, document organization, independent inspection or appraisal coordination, ownership/title/lien-document collection, escrow-provider coordination, scheduling, and closing logistics.

Transaction Assistance does not make RaceTeams the Seller, Buyer, attorney, title company, escrow agent, bank, mechanic, appraiser, insurer, fiduciary, or guarantor. RaceTeams does not act as a broker, agent, negotiator, or representative merely by providing Transaction Assistance. Any broader representative role must be expressly stated in a separate written agreement, must be legally permitted, and must satisfy any applicable licensing or regulatory requirement.

The Transaction Assistance Agreement controls the services, compensation, responsibilities, and transaction-specific procedures it covers.

Required Resolution Process

A. Contact the Seller First

The Buyer must first contact the Seller through the Service or the transaction method identified in the Listing, explain the issue, identify the requested resolution, and provide relevant evidence. The Seller is responsible for responding and attempting a good-faith resolution.

Sellers should acknowledge a complete complaint promptly and, as a marketplace standard, should ordinarily respond within three business days and provide a substantive response, proposed resolution, or request for specific additional information within seven calendar days when reasonably practicable. A shorter Payment Provider, transaction, or legal deadline controls. Repeated failure to respond or participate in good faith may affect payout, Transaction status, Listing privileges, or Account status.

B. Use the RaceTeams Transaction Dispute Process

If the Buyer and Seller cannot resolve the issue and the transaction flow permits escalation, the complaining User must open a Transaction Dispute before the deadline displayed in the Service and before the Transaction is completed or payout is released, where reasonably possible. If no deadline is displayed, the User should contact support@raceteams.com promptly after the issue arises.

RaceTeams may require the parties to continue direct discussions, provide additional records, use the Payment Provider process, obtain an inspection, return an item, preserve evidence, or take another reasonable step before RaceTeams acts.

C. Payment Disputes and Chargebacks

A card dispute, chargeback, bank reversal, payment inquiry, or similar claim is controlled by the Payment Provider, financial institution, card network, or escrow provider. RaceTeams does not control the final decision of those entities.

Users must provide accurate and complete evidence on time and must not file a false, duplicative, abusive, or misleading payment dispute. RaceTeams may collect and submit evidence, accept or challenge a dispute, refund or reverse a transaction, place reserves, withhold or offset payouts, or recover disputed amounts and fees as permitted by the Terms, provider rules, and law.

A Payment Provider decision does not necessarily resolve all contractual claims between the Buyer and Seller. A User remains responsible for amounts lawfully owed and may pursue or defend available remedies directly against the other User.

D. RaceTeams Final Administrative Review

RaceTeams is the last administrative escalation, not the primary resolver. RaceTeams may review a matter when direct resolution fails, a provider or transaction process requires an operator action, there is credible evidence of fraud or abuse, marketplace safety or integrity is affected, or repeated conduct warrants enforcement.

RaceTeams may, but is not obligated to, request information, facilitate communication, cancel or complete a transaction, direct or process a refund, restrict a payout, issue a warning, require corrective action, remove a Listing, restrict transaction rights, suspend or terminate an Account, report conduct, or take another administrative action permitted by the Terms and applicable law.

RaceTeams may decline to review a late, unsupported, duplicative, abusive, off-platform, or previously resolved complaint. A RaceTeams administrative decision is final for platform administration unless RaceTeams offers an appeal. It does not prevent a User from pursuing non-waivable legal rights against the other User.

When RaceTeams elects to conduct an administrative review, it will seek to address the matter within a commercially reasonable period based on the information available. Complex facts, missing information, inspections, returns, fraud or safety concerns, Payment Provider proceedings, legal process, or other circumstances may require additional time. RaceTeams does not guarantee an administrative decision deadline, outcome, refund, payment, or extension of another deadline.

Evidence and Cooperation

The parties must preserve and provide information reasonably requested to evaluate the matter, including:

· The Listing, Seller policy, checkout disclosures, transaction record, invoice, receipt, written agreement, waiver, or sponsorship agreement.

· RaceTeams messages, email, text, call records, change orders, approvals, and other communications.

· Payment records, refunds, bank or card notices, chargeback documents, and escrow records.

· Tracking, shipping labels, delivery confirmation, signatures, photographs, video, packaging, condition reports, serial numbers, title records, lien information, and inspection reports.

· Booking records, attendance, check-in, service logs, work product, deliverables, measurements, reports, event notices, weather or closure notices, and proof of partial performance.

· Any other information reasonably relevant to fraud, authority, authenticity, safety, fulfillment, cancellation, damages, or compliance.

Failure to respond, preserve evidence, return an item, cooperate with a Payment Provider, or provide reasonably requested information may affect a platform decision, refund, payout, Account status, or the ability to challenge a payment dispute.

Refund Processing and Financial Adjustments

· Refunds are ordinarily sent to the original payment method. Processing and posting times are controlled by the Payment Provider and financial institution and may take additional business days after initiation.

· A refund may exclude amounts that are lawfully nonrefundable under a clearly disclosed Seller policy, completed RaceTeams service, separate Transaction Assistance Agreement, Payment Provider rule, or applicable law. However, the Service may automatically refund some or all transaction and platform fees when an operator cancellation occurs.

· RaceTeams does not support partial cash refunds through the standard marketplace cancellation flow at launch. Credits, rescheduling, replacements, repairs, make-goods, or any separately handled monetary adjustment should be documented and accepted by the affected parties.

· RaceTeams or a Payment Provider may deduct a refund, chargeback, fee, reserve, negative balance, loss, tax, penalty, or other amount from current or future Seller payouts or collect it through another authorized method.

· Shipping, taxes, duties, customs, inspection, escrow, processor, and third-party fees are refunded only as required by law, provider rules, the Seller policy, or the agreed resolution.

· RaceTeams does not promise that funds can be recovered after payout, withdrawal, off-platform payment, insolvency, fraud, bank action, or another event outside its reasonable control.

Abuse, Fraud, and Repeat Misconduct

RaceTeams may warn, restrict, suspend, or permanently ban a Buyer or Seller when there is credible and documented evidence of fraud, payment abuse, repeated unjustified chargebacks, non-delivery, false delivery claims, counterfeit or stolen goods, material misrepresentation, review manipulation, harassment, policy evasion, refusal to honor lawful refunds, or another serious or repeated violation.

RaceTeams may act immediately when necessary to protect Users, funds, evidence, payment systems, marketplace integrity, or the public. RaceTeams is not required to disclose confidential fraud, security, provider, or law-enforcement information to the affected User.

International and Mandatory Consumer Rights

If mandatory law in the Buyer’s or Seller’s jurisdiction provides a withdrawal period, cooling-off right, cancellation right, refund, return, repair, replacement, warranty, delivery remedy, or other protection that cannot be waived, that law controls. Sellers are responsible for identifying and honoring rules that apply to their Transactions.

RaceTeams may apply regional terms, checkout disclosures, transaction restrictions, consent requests, or procedures and may suspend cross-border Transactions until required processes are available. A Seller may not rely on a United States-style “all sales final” rule where foreign or local law requires a different remedy.

Changes to This Policy

RaceTeams may update this Policy prospectively. We will post the updated version and revise the “Last Updated” date. A material change will not retroactively alter an already completed Transaction unless the parties agree or applicable law permits or requires the change.
