SellerProfile Review

Learn what Seller Profile Review means on RaceTeams.com, what is reviewed, what is not verified, and what buyers should independently check.

Building trust through better marketplace information

RaceTeams wants Buyers to have clearer information about the people and organizations using the marketplace. RaceTeams may manually review a Seller's submitted marketplace profile and related Listing information before displaying a Seller Profile Reviewed designation.

Seller Profile Review is a marketplace profile-quality review. It is not a guarantee, identity certification, background check, business verification, inspection, endorsement, warranty, or promise that a Seller or Listing is free from risk.

1. What Seller Profile Reviewed means

A Seller Profile Reviewed designation means that RaceTeams manually reviewed the Seller information presented through the marketplace under RaceTeams' then-current profile-review standards and approved that information for display at the time of review.

The review may include:

  • The Seller's RaceTeams profile
  • Business or racing-related descriptions submitted by the Seller
  • Profile photographs, logos, and public-facing information
  • One or more Listings associated with the Seller
  • Completeness, consistency, and clarity of submitted information
  • Obvious conflicts with RaceTeams Listing Standards
  • Requests for corrections, clarification, or additional marketplace information

RaceTeams may compare submitted information with publicly available business or racing information when appropriate, but Seller Profile Reviewed does not mean RaceTeams independently authenticated every statement.

2. Our profile-review process

Step 1: Seller creates a profile

The Seller submits a RaceTeams marketplace profile and information describing the Seller's business, racing activities, products, services, bookings, sponsorship opportunities, or other Offerings.

Step 2: RaceTeams conducts a manual profile review

A RaceTeams representative may review the profile and related Listing information for completeness, consistency, clarity, and apparent compliance with RaceTeams policies.

Step 3: RaceTeams may request changes

RaceTeams may ask the Seller to:

  • Correct inaccurate or unclear information
  • Complete missing profile fields
  • Improve a Listing description
  • Remove unsupported claims
  • Clarify the Seller's role or authority
  • Remove prohibited or inappropriate content
  • Add material disclosures
  • Update outdated information

Step 4: Profile status is approved, declined, or returned for changes

RaceTeams may approve the submitted profile for the Seller Profile Reviewed designation, request further changes, decline the designation, or restrict marketplace activity. Approval applies only to the information reviewed at that time.

Step 5: RaceTeams may review the profile again

RaceTeams may reconsider, suspend, or remove the designation when:

  • Material profile information changes
  • Listings become inconsistent or misleading
  • RaceTeams receives a complaint
  • A transaction raises fraud, safety, or policy concerns
  • Information appears outdated
  • The Seller fails to respond to a review request
  • The Seller violates RaceTeams policies
  • Continued display could create marketplace confusion or risk

Seller Profile Reviewed status is not permanent.

3. What the designation does not verify

Unless RaceTeams expressly states otherwise in writing, Seller Profile Reviewed does not include an independent:

  • Identity verification
  • Criminal background check
  • Credit or financial review
  • Business-registration search
  • Beneficial-ownership verification
  • Ownership, title, or lien search
  • Product or vehicle inspection
  • Safety inspection
  • Authenticity determination
  • Reference check
  • License or permit verification
  • Insurance verification
  • Certification review
  • Tax-compliance review
  • Sanctions or regulatory review
  • Evaluation of professional skill
  • Evaluation of financial stability
  • Guarantee of inventory or availability

RaceTeams does not ordinarily visit the Seller's facility, inspect property, test products, supervise work, or independently establish that every offered right or asset belongs to the Seller.

4. Payment and identity verification through Stripe

Where a Seller uses RaceTeams' Stripe-powered payment and payout features, Stripe may separately collect and verify identity, business, bank-account, tax, ownership, or other information as part of payment onboarding, fraud prevention, and regulatory compliance.

Stripe payment or identity verification is separate from RaceTeams Seller Profile Reviewed status. A Seller may have one without the other. RaceTeams does not represent that Stripe verification is a background check, product inspection, endorsement, or guarantee of future performance.

5. INFORM Consumers Act and other statutory verification

Seller Profile Reviewed does not replace seller verification required by law. If the INFORM Consumers Act or another marketplace-transparency law applies to a Seller, RaceTeams may separately collect, verify, certify, disclose, and update information required by that law and may suspend future sales activity until the Seller complies.

RaceTeams may use Stripe or another qualified provider for some legally required information collection or verification where permitted.

6. Listings are not automatically approved

Seller Profile Reviewed does not mean every current or future Listing has been reviewed or approved. RaceTeams does not promise to pre-approve, inspect, or monitor every Listing before publication.

Sellers remain responsible for ensuring each Listing is:

  • Accurate
  • Current
  • Complete
  • Lawful
  • Properly categorized
  • Not misleading
  • Consistent with RaceTeams policies
  • Supported by appropriate records
  • Clear about material limitations and risks

RaceTeams may remove or restrict a Listing at any time when appropriate.

7. Seller responsibilities remain unchanged

Each Seller remains responsible for:

  • The truth and accuracy of the Seller's profile and Listings
  • Ownership and authority to offer the product, service, or opportunity
  • Condition, defects, repairs, damage, and safety disclosures
  • Product authenticity
  • Title and lien information
  • Pricing and mandatory additional charges
  • Availability
  • Shipping and delivery
  • Service performance
  • Booking fulfillment
  • Sponsorship rights and deliverables
  • Licenses, permits, certifications, and insurance required for the activity
  • Taxes and legal compliance
  • Warranties
  • Cancellations and refunds
  • Customer service
  • Injuries, property damage, and financial losses caused by the Seller or the Seller's Offering
  • Conduct of employees, contractors, team members, drivers, representatives, and service providers

A Seller may not claim that Seller Profile Reviewed makes RaceTeams responsible for the Seller's business or transactions.

8. Buyer responsibility and due diligence

Buyers should treat Seller Profile Reviewed as one piece of marketplace information, not a substitute for independent review.

Before completing a transaction, Buyers should:

  • Read the entire Listing
  • Ask the Seller questions
  • Review photographs and records
  • Confirm the total price
  • Review cancellation and refund terms
  • Verify ownership, title, and liens when relevant
  • Confirm product condition
  • Confirm fitment and compatibility
  • Inspect high-value property
  • Use qualified mechanics, inspectors, appraisers, attorneys, or other professionals
  • Review licenses and insurance when relevant
  • Confirm sponsorship rights and deliverables
  • Review waivers, rental agreements, and service contracts
  • Evaluate safety and legal-use restrictions
  • Preserve transaction records

A Buyer should not rely solely on a badge or profile designation when deciding whether to enter a transaction.

9. Disputes involving a Seller Profile Reviewed Seller

A Seller Profile Reviewed Seller remains responsible for resolving disputes involving the Seller's Listings and transactions.

If direct resolution fails, the parties may use the RaceTeams Marketplace Transaction, Cancellation, Refund & Dispute Policy and any applicable Payment Provider process.

Seller Profile Reviewed does not guarantee:

  • Delivery
  • Product condition
  • Product authenticity
  • Seller performance
  • A refund
  • A payment-dispute outcome
  • A sponsorship result
  • A service result
  • A safe experience
  • A successful transaction

10. No endorsement or agency relationship

Seller Profile Reviewed does not mean RaceTeams:

  • Endorses or recommends the Seller
  • Employs or supervises the Seller
  • Controls the Seller's business
  • Acts as the Seller's agent
  • Acts as the Buyer's agent
  • Is a partner or joint venturer of the Seller
  • Guarantees the Seller's obligations
  • Provides insurance for the Seller
  • Accepts responsibility for the Seller's conduct

Except under a separate written agreement that expressly states otherwise, the Buyer and Seller remain independent parties responsible for their own transaction.

11. Limitation of responsibility for Seller conduct

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RaceTeams is not responsible or liable for a Seller's negligence, misconduct, fraud, misrepresentation, breach of contract, failure to deliver or perform, unsafe act or omission, product defect, inaccurate Listing, intellectual-property violation, licensing or insurance failure, violation of law, injury, death, property damage, financial loss, or dispute with another User merely because RaceTeams reviewed the Seller's profile or displayed the Seller Profile Reviewed designation.

Nothing on this page excludes responsibility that RaceTeams cannot lawfully exclude.

12. Reporting a Seller Profile Reviewed Seller

Users should report concerns involving false or misleading profile information, materially inaccurate Listings, stolen or counterfeit property, undisclosed defects, fraud, unsafe products or services, unlawful conduct, failure to deliver or perform, misuse of the Seller Profile Reviewed designation, threats, harassment, abuse, or repeated cancellation or refund problems.

Reports may be sent to support@raceteams.com. Include the Seller's name, profile or Listing URL, transaction number when applicable, a description of the concern, and available evidence.

RaceTeams may review the report and take action under its policies. RaceTeams does not guarantee a particular investigation result or disclose confidential fraud-prevention, safety, provider, legal, or enforcement information.

13. Changes to profile-review standards

RaceTeams may update its Seller Profile Reviewed requirements as the marketplace, technology, transaction categories, laws, Payment Provider requirements, and business risks change. RaceTeams may require Sellers to complete a new review or update their information.

A prior profile review does not create a permanent right to the designation.
