About Alternative Racing Parts, Tires, Propellers and Components

The spare that saves a race weekend looks different in every corner of Other Racing.

It might be a second propeller in an offshore trailer, an impeller and wear ring at Lake Havasu, a fresh track and studs before a snowmobile weekend, a wheel and tire set for a hill-climb car, a radiator for a Figure 8 car, a steering piece for a swamp buggy, or the part a land-speed team does not want to discover it needs after reaching Bonneville.

Shop physical replacement parts and competition components for alternative motorized racing with a human driver, rider or pilot.

Find Alternative Racing Parts

Listings may include:

  • Racing wheels and tires
  • Marine racing propellers
  • Boat-racing steering, rigging and driveline parts
  • PWC impellers, pumps, nozzles and intake components
  • Snowmobile race tracks, studs, runners and skis
  • Hill-climb wheels, brakes, suspension and aero components
  • Land-speed tires, wheels, brakes and chassis components
  • Figure 8 and demolition derby parts
  • Mud-racing and swamp-buggy components
  • Mega-truck and monster-truck tires, wheels and suspension parts
  • Racing lawn mower parts
  • Big-rig racing components
  • Engine internals and individual drivetrain pieces
  • Clutches, gears, shafts, axles, bearings and hubs
  • Fuel, cooling, ignition and electrical components
  • Body panels, composite pieces and structural hardware
  • Air-racing components and propellers where competition relevance is clear

Wheels and tires belong here because they are physical parts of the race vehicle. Radios, timing systems, scales, jacks and portable team tools belong in Racing Equipment.

Boat Racing Parts, Propellers and Rigging

Boat racers can spend as much time talking about propellers, drives and setup as racers on land spend talking about gears and tires.

For offshore powerboats, hydroplanes, outboards, drag boats, tunnel boats and other marine competition, listings can include:

  • Racing propellers
  • Prop shafts and couplers
  • Gearcase components
  • Steering hardware
  • Trim components
  • Driveshaft and driveline pieces
  • Cooling-system components
  • Fuel and plumbing hardware
  • Hull hardware and rigging components
  • Cockpit hardware
  • Sensors and instrumentation components mounted to the boat

A propeller deserves more detail than a photograph and a diameter. Buyers may need blade count, pitch, rotation, material, hub or shaft compatibility, finish, repair history and whether it has been lab-finished, blueprinted or otherwise modified.

A propeller that worked on one boat is not automatically right for another hull, engine package, water condition or racing class.

PWC and Jet Ski Racing Parts

Personal watercraft racers shop by platform and generation.

A Kawasaki stand-up ski, Yamaha SuperJet and Sea-Doo runabout can require completely different combinations of pump, impeller, intake, ride plate, steering, cooling and engine hardware. Even two models with similar displacement can have different parts needs.

PWC listings may include:

  • Impellers
  • Pumps and pump housings
  • Nozzles
  • Intake grates
  • Ride plates
  • Sponsons
  • Steering components
  • Handlepole components
  • Exhaust parts
  • Cooling components
  • ECU and electrical hardware
  • Engine internals
  • Hull and body components

Whether a racer is preparing for an IJSBA event at Lake Havasu, a regional watercross weekend or another sanctioned program, the seller should identify the exact make, model, year, platform and racing application.

Snowmobile, Snocross and Ice Racing Parts

Snow racers know how quickly a weekend can become a parts hunt.

Snocross can punish suspension and bodywork. Oval racers obsess over traction and alignment. Cross-country racers care about durability. Vintage racers may spend months searching for a part that stopped being common decades ago.

Listings may include:

  • Race tracks
  • Studs and traction products
  • Runners and carbides
  • Skis
  • Suspension arms and components
  • Shocks and springs
  • Brake components
  • Clutch parts
  • Chaincase and drive components
  • Engine internals
  • Cooling parts
  • Body panels and hoods
  • Electrical components

For tracks, identify length, width, pitch, lug height and application. For studs and runners, identify size, quantity, pattern and intended class where known.

Competition rules can vary between snocross, oval, vintage, ice, grass and drag formats. Prior use does not prove current legality.

Hill Climb and Land Speed Racing Parts

Hill climb and land speed are very different disciplines, but both reward careful preparation and punish the wrong component choice.

A hill-climb racer may be looking for lightweight wheels, brakes that can survive a long ascent, aero pieces, steering components, suspension, cooling hardware or bodywork for a purpose-built car. At Pikes Peak, cars can range from production-based Time Attack entries to Open Wheel and Unlimited builds, so fitment and class context matter.

Land-speed racers may need tires and wheels suited to the speed and class, steering parts, brakes, cooling, suspension, aero or body hardware, drivetrain components and specialized fasteners. Bonneville and El Mirage competitors should confirm current class and technical requirements before relying on a part that was accepted in a previous season.

If the principal product is a complete engine, transmission or major drivetrain assembly, use Other Racing Race Engines & Drivetrains.

Figure 8 and Demolition Derby Parts

Grassroots destruction racing has its own parts economy.

A Figure 8 or derby racer may need a radiator, steering rack, tie rod, axle, rear end, wheel, tire, brake component, fuel-system piece, cooling component, sheet metal or cage hardware between events. Local racers also build around what is available, affordable and legal under the promoter's rules.

Indianapolis Speedrome programs include Outlaw Figure 8, Factory FWD and other classes, while demolition derby rules can range from bone-stock and compact divisions to limited-weld and heavily prepared cars. A part accepted at one event may not be legal at another.

Buy for the rules you actually race under.

Swamp Buggy, Mud, Mega-Truck and Lawn Mower Parts

Swamp and mud racing put different loads on parts than a paved circuit ever will.

Listings may include:

  • Mud and paddle tires
  • Specialty wheels
  • Axles and shafts
  • Hubs and bearings
  • Steering components
  • Suspension links and shocks
  • Brake components
  • Cooling parts
  • Fuel-system components
  • Body and chassis hardware

Racing mower parts may include billet flywheels, connecting rods, steering pieces, brakes, chassis components and small-engine racing hardware. A complete mower belongs in Race Cars & Chassis. A complete engine sold separately belongs in Race Engines & Drivetrains.

Monster-truck parts may appear here when they are genuinely relevant, especially tires, wheels, shocks, steering and driveline components. They are one specialty segment among many, not the definition of Other Racing.

Air Racing Components

Air-racing parts require the most conservative marketplace language in this family.

An aircraft propeller, airframe component, racing-related engine part or other aviation component can belong here when the listing has a clear air-racing or competition connection. Sellers should identify manufacturer, part number, serial information where appropriate, documented time or maintenance information where available and the basis for any competition-use claim.

RaceTeams.com does not determine airworthiness, approved installation, continued-airworthiness status or suitability for a specific aircraft. Buyers should use appropriately qualified aviation professionals and applicable regulatory guidance.

Buying Used Racing Parts

Before purchasing, review:

  • Racing discipline
  • Race vehicle type
  • Manufacturer and model
  • Year or generation
  • Part manufacturer and part number
  • Exact dimensions and specifications
  • New, take-off, rebuilt or used condition
  • Competition use and service history
  • Known damage, cracks, corrosion or repairs
  • Remaining service life where relevant
  • Modifications
  • Included hardware
  • Current class or ruleset where the seller makes an eligibility claim
  • Seller location
  • Shipping or freight requirements
  • Return policy

Used racing parts can be excellent value, but race history matters. Impacts, heat, water exposure, fatigue, corrosion, stud wear, repairs and previous failures should be disclosed when known.

Selling Alternative Racing Parts?

Teams, racers, pilots, riders, builders, race shops, marine specialists, powersports dealers, parts manufacturers and private owners can list legitimate racing components here.

A strong listing should tell the next racer enough to decide whether the part deserves a closer look.

Include:

  • Racing type
  • Part category
  • Manufacturer
  • Part number
  • Intended application
  • Race vehicle make, model and generation
  • Class where relevant
  • Dimensions or specifications
  • New or used condition
  • Usage history
  • Damage or repairs
  • Modification history
  • Quantity
  • Hardware included
  • Asking price
  • Seller location
  • Shipping, freight or pickup terms

Avoid unsupported claims such as legal for every class, never fails, certified, approved or guaranteed performance.
